Meet the speaker: Tanya P. Garcia

Tanya Garcia is an Associate Professor of Biostatistics, Provost Distinguished Faculty Leader, and Tyson Academic Leader at the University of North Carolina at Chapel Hill (UNC-CH). She earned her PhD in Statistics from Texas A&M University and has led a transdisciplinary research team focused on designing robust statistical methods for neurodegenerative diseases. Dr. Garcia has received continuous funding as Principal Investigator, including an R01 from the National Institute of Neurological Disorders and Stroke, and is committed to mentoring the next generation of statisticians through grantsmanship and leadership training.
